bluetooth.jpgBluetooth has become popular in 1998 and the manufacturers came out with many versions of the same. The version 1.0 and 1.0B faced many problems in the device and the main important was lack of communication among each other.

Verson 1.1

The Version 1.1 was the first successful Bluetooth which was operational. This was the one which cleared all the problems and faults of the earlier ones.

Version 1.2

The new cell phones today, come equipped with Bluetooth version 1.2 as it offers compatibility with the earlier version and has faster transmission speeds, signal strengths, and HCI support for 3 wire UART.

Version 2.0

In this version the manufacturers decided to increase its speed. Here the manufacturers realized that the faster is better. The new version 2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate was developed in the year 2004 and was available in the market in the late 2005.

The data transfer speed is three times more than that of the earlier version. The Version 2.0 boasts of enhanced connectivity. More devices can be attached to and run at a faster speed. The computers and the devices related are the first devices to be run by Bluetooth + EDR which can be followed by audio and imaging device.

Basically, the version 2.0 is compatible with the earlier version and is three times faster and it offers the EDR of 2.1 MB per second. It offers broadcast and multicast support with a enhanced bit error rate performance, thus making it the best Bluetooth has ever seen.
